Get ready for an intense showdown at the Butterfield Bermuda Championship, the penultimate event of the FedExCup Fall! The stakes are sky-high as we witness the battle for TOUR cards and the chance to secure a spot in the 2026 season.
Emotional Triumph and Title Defense
Rafael Campos, the emotional champion of last year's event, returns to defend his title. Campos' victory was extra special, as he became a father just six days before the finale. Can he repeat his success and become the first back-to-back winner in Bermuda? It's a tall order, as Campos has struggled recently, making only two cuts in his last 12 PGA TOUR appearances.
Crunch Time for TOUR Pros
With just two events left in the schedule, the pressure is on for many players. The top 100 cut-off spot is a looming concern, and the competition is fierce. Max McGreevy currently holds the No. 100 spot, but he's closely followed by David Lipsky, who trails by only 2.5 points. Kevin Yu, ranked No. 60, aims to secure his place in the first two Signature Events of next year by finishing in the top 51-60. He's joined in Bermuda by Rico Hoey (No. 58) and four other players ranked 61-69, all hoping to make a big leap.
Field Notes and World-Class Golfers
Sahith Theegala leads the way in Bermuda, aiming for a strong finish to an injury-plagued season. Michael Brennan, the winner of the Bank of Utah Championship, is the highest-ranked golfer in the field at No. 40. The Monday qualifier saw Samuel Anderson earn medalist honors with an impressive 10-under 62. Jake Peacock and Drew Doyle also qualified with 9-under 63s, while Hunter Wolcott topped PGA TOUR winner Adam Long in a playoff for the final spot.
Behind the Scenes with Michael Brennan
After his victory at the Bank of Utah Championship, we take a look behind the scenes with Michael Brennan. Get to know the man behind the swing and his journey to the top.
Sponsor Exemptions and Amateur Talent
Blades Brown, who turned 18 this summer, will tee it up for the seventh time this PGA TOUR season. He earned full Korn Ferry Tour status for 2026 after finishing 68th on the Points List. Celebrated amateur Tyler Watts, committed to the University of Tennessee, is back in action after making the cut at the Procore Championship. Local Bermuda golfers Will Haddrell, Kenny Leseur, and Oliver Betschart will also be teeing it up, along with international talent like Oscar Couilleau from France and Justin Hastings from the Cayman Islands, the 2025 Latin America Amateur Championship winner. Chase Johnson, the Charlie Sifford Memorial Exemption winner in 2024, and Henry Smart and Andrew Zielinski round out the sponsor exemptions.
Signature Event Storylines
As part of the Aon Next 10, players ranked 51-60 through the FedExCup Fall will earn their way into two early-season 2026 Signature Events: the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am and The Genesis Invitational. Garrick Higgo, after his T4 finish in Cabo, has virtually guaranteed himself a spot by moving from No. 57 to No. 52 in the standings. Meanwhile, Wyndham Clark dropped from No. 60 to No. 61.
FedExCup and Eligibility
The Butterfield Bermuda Championship is the sixth event of the FedExCup Fall. Players ranked 51-70 in the FedExCup at the start of the fall have already secured their top-100 eligibility for the following year, but they're still competing for spots in the first two Signature Events of 2025. Those ranked 71 and beyond can also earn one of the 10 spots available in those Signature Events, but they must also finish in the top 100 of the FedExCup standings at the end of the fall. Players ranking 101-125 on the final FedExCup Fall Points List will have conditional status for the 2025 PGA TOUR Season.
Course and Scoring
The Port Royal Golf Course in Southampton, Bermuda, will host the event. With a par of 71 and a length of 6,828 yards, it's considered short by PGA TOUR standards but is the longest course on the island. Weather conditions are expected to play a significant role in scoring, as they have in previous years.
Record-Breaking Potential
The 72-hole record is currently held by Brendon Todd (2019) and Camilo Villegas (2023), both with a score of 260. Taylor Pendrith (Round 2, 2021), Alex Noren (Round 1, 2023), and Wesley Bryan (Round 3, 2024) share the 18-hole record with a score of 61.
Last Time Out in Bermuda
Rafael Campos shot a 3-under 68 in the final round, securing a three-shot victory over Andrew Novak. It was a fairytale ending for Campos, whose wife had her labor induced on the Monday of the tournament so he could compete and potentially re-earn his job for 2025. Campos exceeded expectations and more, solidifying his place in the TOUR.
